We started in 2022 with a dream in mind
The year was 2021 & I (Janinah) was younger & thinner. Full of hope (it was nearing the end of the pandemic) and potential yet to be realised.
Obsessed with the potential that no-code tools could have on the non-profit industry, I created JMK & Co with a vision to support socially driven organisations in optimising their operations.
After all, keeping costs & time commitment down are major factors most mission-driven organisations consider when doing projects. Making no-code tools a natural choice thanks to their ability to reduce both costs and timings of a project.
So, just like that a Freelance Marketer of 5x years (with a lot of passion for the non-profit space) re-pivoted her business to become a Ltd company focusing solely on supporting socially driven organisations.
However these days it's not just me anymore! As not long after starting the business I came across (Joe): A fellow quirky creative who also brings a whole lot of passion & personality to the company.

Not to mention we're much more nimble than some of the larger agencies/consultancies out there with dozens of clients on their books. We only work with a handful of clients per quarter. So rest assured you'll have our undivided attention. 😉
How long has JMK & Co been running for?
JMK Consultancy (former name) was first founded in 2016: Although it’s changed much over the years - Most notably becoming a specialist consultancy that only supports socially driven organisations and having Joe come onboard with project support (2022) - One thing has remained the same and that's a massive passion for digital empowerment & positive social impact.

There is none.
Other than a company LinkedIn page and Janinah's LinkedIn profile (soon to be shut down) 💀
We're not the biggest fans of social media here at JMK & Co. We don't use social media as individuals (aside from Whatsapp, to speak to fam and friends) - Instead we prefer to invest our marketing efforts in; building long term partnerships, educating others in the VCSE sector and keeping our clients happy - So they come back to us and recommend us to others in the sector.

How did you come up with the name?
Honestly, when I (Janinah) decided to re-pivot my business consultancy into one that only supports socially driven organisations, I knew I couldn't support them alone. I'd also learned from previous years of working in non-profits that the most impactful projects are ones that are the culmination of a collaborative effort and team work! So I decided to rename my business from 'JMK Consultancy' to 'JMK & Co' As I knew there would always be a 'Company' of people I'd be working with across projects - From 1x fellow consultant, to entire client teams hence I added the '& Co' ☺️
